Toyota is the Number one car manufacturer in the world for the year 2012 and has taken the title of world’s largest vehicle maker. Few days back, the Toyota and General Motors were fighting it out to claim the world’s number “1” Carmaker’s Position. But after calculating the sales figure, the results comes that the Toyota sold nearly 9.75 million units in 2012 across the world. Toyota first became Number 1 position in 2008 and held the position for 3 years.
Toyota is No.1 Carmaker in the world for the Year 2012
The figure of 9.75 million represented that the calculation of sales figure increase almost 27% than the previous year. Toyata was boosted by 27 percent (%) sales increase in United State.
General Motors with 9.29 million sales and stood at the 2nd position while the Volkswagen took a big leap and selling around 9.1 million units across the world.
In 2011, the production and sales were badly affected by the earthquake in Japan and it disrupted the company’s output and caused a shortage of vehicles.
But the Toyota’s U.S. sales back to prerecession levels and in the year 2012 the company sold nearly 2.1 million automobile cars in the United State.
The figure of sales increase nearly half a million cars and it was Toyota’s best year in the U.S. Toyota regains title as world biggest carmaker by sales and Beating No.2 GM.
Volkswagen getting increasingly aggressive and General Motor also having recovered totally from its economic crisis. It might be interesting to see who finishes on top in the year 2013.
